When the water is moving through the valve, it will pass via the spring and diaphragm which creates resistance and reduces the pressure of the required level when the water leaves the valve from the other side.

Otherwise, the pressure may build up to upset the process, instrument, or failure of the equipment or cause any type of fire. Temperature & Pressure Relief Valves are mainly placed at a place that is closer to the top of the water heaters which are present in our homes. They have a lever that can lift up or down along with a discharge pipe which is running from the valve straight down to the bottom of the water heater. The main use of the temperature-relief valve is to release the water and finally decreasing the internal pressure of the tank in cases when the temperature or pressure gets extremely high inside the heater of the water.
